Mission
The Humanities Department covers the following subjects: African Studies, American Sign Language, Ancient Studies, Art, Communications, Comparative Literature, Dance, Design, English and American Language and Literature, European Studies, Film, French Language and Literature, Germanic Languages and Literatures, Humanities, Italian Language and Literature, Juvenile Literature, Latin American Studies, Linguistics and TESL, Media Arts, Music, Philosophy, Photography, Portuguese Language and Literature, Spanish Language and Literature and Theatre.
Location/Hours
The Humanities Department is located on level 5 of the Lee Library, with the Asian Studies and Juvenile Literature collections located on the South side of level 4.

Reference desks exist to help you with research, navigate the numerous on-line databases, find articles and images, search for missing books, check out dry-erase markers, etc. The reference desk should be the first stop in getting research help. If the reference desk is unable to help with your research, or you need more extensive research help, they will refer you to the appropriate subject librarian.
