Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, etc.

Encyclopedias are an excellent starting point for research. Encyclopedias supply background information, sub-topics to narrow your research, terminology, authorities in the field, and often include bibliographies of sources to consult for additional information. Encyclopedias can be general in coverage or specialized, covering one field of knowledge.

For additional encyclopedias, use the Library Catalog Keyword Search on the Library Home Page. Select Library Catalog, Keyword Search, then Search All.  Type in your subject followed by the word "encyclopedias" or "dictionaries" (e.g., drama encyclopedias) and click Go. Go to the home page.
