Administrative Interface

INDI’s administrative interface allows users to manage their own account, as well as those that they supervise. Through the account settings page they are able to manage their password and group associations.INDI administrative interface screenshot They can also use the interface to set up alternative or additional workspaces, similar to the virtual desktops used in Linux environments.

However, the most important function in the administrative interface is the ability to manage system accounts. In INDI, curators are able to set up and manage the accounts of students, volunteers, or paraprofessionals that they supervise. This local account administration reduces the demands on the system administrator, while encouraging the development of curator-centered reporting groups.
