Arrangement & Description
The Arrangement and Description module of INDI allows curators to gather all of the information necessary to generate catalog records (MARCXML format), finding aids (EAD format) and metadata for digital objects. This module leads curators through the acquisition of descriptive information about the collection being processed. The first major task is the creation of a processing plan that determines to what level a collection will be processed. This processing plan becomes the basis for how INDI constructs the forms that will facilitate information gathering. The second major task is the input of data itself. Once the data is entered into the forms generated by INDI, the system can generate output in whatever format the curator specifies.
