iCalendar
iCalendar is a Web standard for exchanging event data in calendaring applications. iCalendar files can be distributed in various ways, principally through e-mail, though they can also be embedded in XHTML pages and distributed via HTTP.
iCalendar and INDI
In INDI, users are able to subscribe to iCalendar feeds in much the same way as they can RSS. To create the iCalendar feed the curator creates a My Projects search on a call number, creator name, or other term. After saving the search and clicking on the star iCalendar icon, a popup dialog will be displayed providing the corresponding iCalendar links as well as subscription instructions for the more commonly used iCalendar clients.

Once the curator has subscribed to the feed, their calendar will be automatically updated with any project deadlines related to collections or accessions found by the search query.
