Laptop Printing - Macs
Instructions for printing from a Mac
- Open the Print Center Utility (located in the Utilities folder in your Applications)
- Click the “Add” icon to create a new printer
- Choose IP Printing from the dropdown menu
- Enter “pharaoh.lib.byu.edu” as the printer’s address
- Be sure that it says “Complete and valid address” under the “Printer Address)
- Uncheck “Use default queue server”
- Type in the queue name depending on the public access area that you are in (see list below)
- Choose “Add” to create your printer
- When you print a document choose your newly created printer to print, then go to the pharos station and swipe you student ID to print your document. The name of your document will not appear, so you must look at the user column and look for your osX user name.
- You may leave the printer in your printer list and print to it from anywhere on or off campus, or you can delete the printer when you are finished using it. Do this by going back into the Print Center Utility and selecting the pharos printer from the “Printer List” then click the “Delete”
If you have any problems, contact a support proctor (people in blue vests) in a public access area.
